In 2013, FHPS performed better than 99% of other districts in Michigan.  In 2021, that dropped to 96.6%*.

Decline of Advanced Programs

  •  FHPS has a demonstrated decline in the number of “Challenge” classes offered as well as a reduction of the gifted programs and advanced curriculum.
  •  The District began eliminating English, Social Studies and Science  Challenge classes from the Middle Schools in 2019. Math alone remains.
  • Honors classes in Biology and Chemistry are no longer offered for high school freshmen and sophomores.

Books in classrooms and libraries

  • Inappropriate books that contain pornography and other vulgar content have been found throughout FHPS.
  •  There is no oversight, standards or database for classroom libraries.
